Nissan recalls 14,718 vehicles

Nissan is recalling 14,718 vehicles in North America due to oil leaks from faulty engine bolts.
The recall affects about 14,718 vehicles which include: 2011 Infiniti FX, 2012 Infiniti M sedans, 2012 Nissan Frontier pickup trucks, 2011-2012 Nissan Xterra SUV, and Nissan NV Vans.  According to the NHTSA the vehicles were built using sub-standard bolts that connect the engine oil cooler to the oil filter.  Because the bolts were not made to withstand any sufficient weight, they may break at the oil filter connecter causing a leak.  Loss of oill can cause the engine to sieze, making the vehicle more susceptible to cause an accident.

Nissan will start to notify owners of these vehicles and have them bring them in for free replacement bolts.
